Greetings, everyone!
As some may know, I’m 16 and I’ve recently self-published my first novel, titled Her Prince of Dreams. As a teenager, I never expected I would begin my career as a writer so young.
That being said, exchanging business is not a strong-suit for someone with no experience. I’ve had my share of mistakes through this long process.
One of the biggest issues I ignored was marketing. I constantly had people recommending that I begin marketing before my book was published, that way I could build a fan-base while also creating anticipation for the coming novel. The only obstacle that kept me from completing this objective was doubt.
I never thought Her Prince of Dreams could come to life in my hands. I always had this feeling that my dreams of becoming an author would somehow perish – I thought it was impossible.
Now that I am published, I realize that I should have begun marketing a long time ago. It’s easier said than done; however, I refuse to give up hope on my new dream.
I desire to help other young people to not doubt their writing. Anyone at any age can write and publish if that’s what they really dream of doing.
This collection of writings are going to be about encouraging other teenagers to market and publish their book. I want to bring other writers together to support one another and also learn marketing techniques.
